Houchin Construction provided integrated design-build services for the complete transformation of this 2,000-square-foot corner penthouse in Barefoot Beach.
The architectural plan completely reconfigured the dated layout, a key achievement of which was the intelligent integration of a new powder bath. The renovation was absolute, extending to the core infrastructure with all-new high-performance windows, electrical, plumbing, and a high-efficiency HVAC system.
In collaboration with the client’s interior designer, we embraced a sophisticated palette influenced by the owner’s Minnesota origins, utilizing rich, darker tones to create a dramatic departure from typical coastal design.
Capitalizing on the unit’s uniquely tall ceilings, we fostered an atmosphere of expansive luxury. The commitment to a pure, minimalist aesthetic is meticulously executed throughout the home, featuring mud-in recessed lighting and HVAC grills, and caseless interior doors that combine to create truly seamless, uninterrupted surfaces. The custom kitchen features sleek cabinetry concealing a suite of panel-ready Sub-Zero appliances, complemented by a modern fireplace. Adjacent, a custom-built library showcases our precision, incorporating a hidden door that integrates into the millwork to provide discreet access to the utility room. The master suite was transformed into a spa-like retreat with a jet tub, steam shower, and dual vanities. Tying the home together, wide-plank wood-look tile flooring extends from the interior directly onto the lanai, creating a flawless indoor-outdoor transition. This outdoor living space is crowned with a custom walnut ceiling and features a built-in electric grill, completing a truly cohesive and sophisticated penthouse design.
